The Acting Course – Full
Year
For the first seven productions casting is on a rota basis enabling students
to play a variety of leading and minor roles. For the remaining seven
productions casting is competitive preparing students for the realities of
the profession and giving them a thorough experience of audition practices
and techniques. Every student is given practical help on preparing for
auditions which are conducted by guest directors or the resident directors.
Each play during the year
is approached in a different way using improvisation, Stanislavsky, method
acting, pure acting technique, stylised acting, realistic or documentary
style approaches etc. and it is expected that upon entering the profession
all students will have a solid background of the various methods used in
play presentation.
